As Rodin’s “The Thinker” was known for its heroic proportions and classical modeling, this portrait was evidence of a life thoroughly lived; a body beaten up with age and how we might have done things differently if we had known the consequences. This project was very personal; my subject is a hero and has lived a life of monumental proportions. A giant in many eyes, but he is human and it’s his human body that is failing him.
